I believe that a number of our issues in society are created because we don’t extend dignity and respect to everyone we meet as a matter of common courtesy. People experiencing homelessness are not statistics, they are members of our community. We can treat our neighbors better. In the 13th District, we have a specific problem with people who are unhoused and need to bring all parties together to find solutions to putting roofs over people’s heads and provide wrap-around services to help them stay housed. Helping people feel a part of our community and working with all community members to build a better sense of community is an important goal for me.
